As the hustle and excitement of back to school starts to settle, here is your downtown dentist’s friendly reminder to utilize your dental benefits before they run out.
Did You Know?
STUDENTS CAN SAVE!
Post-secondary schools across Alberta have Student Health and Dental Plans, designed specifically for students to cover many routine dental services, such as cleanings, fillings, and extraction of wisdom teeth.
The cost for these plans varies per term and per post-secondary schools but can range from around
$203 to $305
and can cover as much as
$650
in dental care, amongst other things.
How do you use your dental benefits?
Between reimbursement levels and exclusions or inclusions, dental benefit plans can be confusing.
That’s why, prior to any treatment, we always provide an estimate for you — the decision from there is yours.
Due to the changes in the “Freedom of Information Act,” many pre-authorizations/estimates are returned to the patient ONLY.
We will also complete and file your dental claim form for you. If your dental benefit plan requires a pre-determination or prior authorization, we will submit a treatment plan for review by your insurance carrier. We will also help process follow-ups or locate lost claims.
Some benefits for 2023 conclude with the calendar year, so be sure to book your appointment with us by the end of December.
Reminder:
If you have a change in benefits provider or plan, please remember to let us know. You can also bring your plan booklet with you to your appointment, which can typically be found electronically through your provider’s app. We can also help you locate these.
We can take it from there together.
